The Gold Museum, the only and spectacular one dedicated to Metals with eight thousand pieces where you can mainly appreciate pre-Incan gold, we will also appreciate ornaments from all cultures
In the museum we can appreciate the wealth of gold objects of Chimú art, as well as precious metals such as silver, multiple textiles, ceramics, mummies, funerary bundles, heads, trophies and other valuable objects of the period such as the replica of the Lord of Sipan, the main character of the Chimú culture.
Through this, it has been possible to appreciate the advances in metallurgy, customs, beliefs and the life that was led in these cultures.
Gold and silver maintained a magical religious symbolism in all Peruvian cultures, these metals represented a constant duality of sun-moon, day-night, feminine-masculine.

Tour to the Gold Museum of Peru.
Most of the more than 8,000 pieces found here are from the indiscriminate looting of archaeological sites on the coast of Peru. The museum was donated to the state by the Peruvian Miguel Mujica Gallo.
The pieces found here are valuable jewels of what the Spanish found when they arrived in Peru, producing the encounter between two cultures, through them the great advances in metallurgy, the customs, and beliefs of the cultures have been made known.
Gold and silver had a magical religious symbolism in all Peruvian cultures. These precious metals represented the constant duality of Sun-Moon, Day-night, feminine-masculine. In the Inca Empire, the god Inti represented sovereignty and the goddess Luna or Mama Quilla, mother of the Firmament.
All pre-Incan cultures were excellent goldsmiths, among them Vicus, Mochica, Lambayeque and Chimú stand out, and later the Inca Empire emerged, which was the richest in possession of gold and silver metallic objects.
We can also find different weapons from around the world, dating from the 13th century BC 20,000 weapons from all times and countries are exhibited in the museum, which is why it is considered the most outstanding museum in the world in this specialty.
