The Potato Park tour in Cusco begins with hotel pickup from the city of Cusco. Early in the morning, we will travel through the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas, enjoying spectacular Andean landscapes, mountains, agricultural fields, and traditional villages that still preserve the essence of Quechua culture.
Our first stop will be the traditional town of Pisac, well known for its cultural and agricultural heritage. Here, local communities will warmly welcome visitors and share their ancestral knowledge about the cultivation of native Andean potatoes. If time allows, we will also visit the famous Pisac handicraft market, where travelers can purchase local textiles, handicrafts, and traditional products from the region.
Afterward, we will continue to the Potato Park, a unique biocultural reserve dedicated to preserving hundreds of native potato varieties originally from the Andes. During the experience, we will enjoy a scenic walk toward the beautiful Kinsaqocha Lagoon, surrounded by impressive Andean landscapes and panoramic mountain views.
Throughout the journey, visitors will participate in cultural activities alongside local families, who will demonstrate the traditional process of planting, harvesting, and preserving potatoes using ancestral farming techniques. In addition, travelers will enjoy workshops about Andean medicinal plants and traditional handicrafts that are part of the cultural identity of Quechua communities.
The experience concludes with a delicious traditional Andean lunch, prepared with a variety of native potatoes and organic products grown by the local communities themselves. Finally, in the afternoon, we will return to the city of Cusco, ending an unforgettable experience of community-based rural tourism in the Peruvian Andes.
