Day 1: Pick up from Apt-Hotel / Arequipa Tour
According to your scheduled time, you will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel in Arequipa. Next, as planned, you will be picked up from your hotel to begin the Arequipa City Tour with our local guide.
We will then visit the historic center of Arequipa, where we will explore the Santa Catalina Monastery. This monastery is significant for its representation of four centuries of Arequipa’s architecture, with its charming streets and cloisters adorned with colorful flowers and walls painted in vibrant hues.
Following this, we will head to Arequipa’s main square, renowned as the most beautiful in Peru. We will also visit the Jesuit Church of the Company, notable for its stunning façade showcasing mestizo architecture, along with its cloisters and dome, and the Tristán del Pozo Mansion.
Day 2: Colca Canyon Tour.
To start, between 2:30 and 3:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel. Afterward, we will leave Arequipa and head towards Colca Canyon, passing by the Chachani snow-capped mountain and Chivay.
After breakfast in Chivay, we will visit the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor (3,500 meters above sea level), where we will witness the flight of the condors and enjoy the best panoramic view of the canyon, with its depth of 1,200 meters, from the viewpoint to the river.
Cross of the Condor
We will spend a few hours at Cruz del Cóndor before continuing to the town of Pinchollo, known for being the most characteristic village in the valley. Next, we will view the pre-Inca hanging tombs on vertical cliffs, notable for being the most outstanding stone-scale model of the Colca Valley. On the way, we will also stop at the Mirador Antahuilque. Afterward, we will continue through the towns of Maca, Achoma, and Yanque, which features a monumental baroque-style church.
La Calera Thermal Baths
In the afternoon, we will return to Chivay, where you can optionally visit the Medicinal Thermal Baths ‘La Calera.’ After lunch, we will head back to the White City of Arequipa. Along the way, we will make stops at Patapampa or the Mirador de los Andes, Alto Sumbay, and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, which is home to the four species of South American camelids, with the vicuña being the most important.
Day 3: Transfer Hotel Airport or Bus Terminal.
After breakfast, depending on the scheduled time, you will be offered transfer to the bus terminal or the airport.
In case your flight leaves at night, other services can be scheduled such as: Tour to the Pillones Waterfalls , Añashuayco Quarries or the panoramic tour of the City.
