DAY 1: Humantay Lake Tour

The Humantay Lake Tour starts early in the morning to make the most of the day and fully enjoy the stunning Andean landscapes.

04:00 a.m. (approx.) – Hotel Pick-Up
Our tourist transportation service will pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the starting point of the tour.

Drive Toward Mollepata
After pick-up, we begin our journey with our professional tour guide along the highway connecting Cusco to Abancay, before taking the detour toward Mollepata.

After approximately 1.5 hours of travel, we arrive in Limatambo, and then continue toward Mollepata. Here, we will enjoy a breakfast to recharge our energy before starting the hike.

Mollepata – Soraypampa
Following breakfast, we continue by bus for about 1 additional hour until we reach Soraypampa, where we prepare to begin the hike.

Hike to Humantay Lake
From Soraypampa, we start the Humantay Lake hike, which involves an uphill trek of approximately 1 hour. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.

Upon arrival at Humantay Lake, there will be time to explore, take photos, and admire the breathtaking turquoise waters. Our guide will provide detailed information about the lake, the impressive Humantay Mountain, and the Vilcabamba Mountain Range in the Peruvian Andes.

This height is common in the mountain regions of the Peruvian Andes and contributes to the beauty and uniqueness of the landscape around the lagoon. However, due to the elevation, it is important for tourists to prepare for soroche or altitude sickness and take appropriate measures to adapt.

The journey to Humantay begins at an altitude of 3875 meters above sea level, specifically in Soraypampa, from where the Salkantay trek also begins , which will give you the option of visiting Machu Picchu.
