DÍA 1: Cusco – Km 104 – Machu Picchu Pueblo
At approximately 3:40 am, our transfer will stop at your hotel to pick you up and take you to Ollantaytambo from where we will take the train to Machu Picchu to move to km 104, from here we begin our Inca trail to Machu Picchu for 2 days.
At km 104 we will present ourselves at the Chachabamba checkpoint (2000 m / 6560 ft), from here together with our tour guide we will begin a gentle hike, enjoying beautiful views of the landscapes and the Urubamba River.
We will continue our journey until we reach Wiñay Wayna (2600 m / 8500 ft), the junction point with the 4-day Inca Trail, here we can explore the archaeological center and rest to eat our box lunch.
After the snack we will continue the walk to the Sun Gate or Inti Punku, from where we will be able to observe a beautiful sunset of Machu Picchu, then we will go down to a part of the citadel and then go down to Machu Picchu where we will stay.
At night we will have an exquisite dinner in Machu Picchu, where our guide will give us directions for our visit to Machu Picchu, and we will be able to rest.
Día 02: Machu Picchu - Cusco
After breakfast, at the time indicated by our guide, we will board the Consettur bus from Machu Picchu Town to the archaeological park, along a zigzagging path full of flora and fauna that surrounds Machu Picchu. At the control gate of the citadel, we will present our tickets to enter with our tour guide.
Together with our guide we will tour for 2 and a half hours to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, we will visit the Guardian’s House from where we will have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu next to Huanapicchu, the stone quarry, the temple of the sun, the temple of the 3 windows, the agricultural area and the urban area.
At the end of our guided tour we will have time for an average of one hour to rest inside the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We will then take the bus to return to the town of Machu Picchu.
Depending on the departure time of our train, we will arrive at the train station 30 minutes before to board the train and return to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo our transfer will be waiting for you to board you to the city of Cusco, ending our Short Inca Trail Machu Picchu 2 Days tour with the transfer to your hotel.

Can you get to Machu Picchu by car?
