Day 1: Cusco – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes
Your express adventure begins bright and early. Our Aremika Travel team will pick you up from your hotel at 6:30 a.m. We then start a scenic and lengthy drive through the Sacred Valley towards the Amazon jungle.
The route takes us over the impressive “Abra Málaga” pass, which stands at an altitude of 4,316 meters, offering stunning views of the snow-capped peaks. Around 2:00 p.m., we’ll arrive at the Hidroeléctrica station. From here, we begin a beautiful 2.5 to 3-hour hike along a flat trail to Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu.
Upon arrival, we will check you into your hotel. Between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m., your guide will meet you for a detailed briefing about the next day’s magical visit.

You can choose a 1.5-hour invigorating hike up the mountain or take a 25-minute bus ride. Your professional guide will lead a comprehensive 2.5-hour tour through the Inca city, revealing its history and mysteries. You will then have free time to explore on your own until about 11:30 a.m.
This is the recommended time to start your descent back to Aguas Calientes and then hike back to Hidroeléctrica. Our transport will be waiting to begin the long drive back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 9:30 p.m., filled with incredible memories.
