Day 1: City Tours in Cusco
Our 6-Day Cusco Tours Tour Package.
Your journey begins with a warm reception at Cusco airport, followed by a transfer to your hotel where you can acclimate to the altitude before starting our scheduled Cusco City Tour.
At 1:40 pm, we will embark on a guided tour starting from Cusco’s main square. Our first stop is the Qoricancha Temple, built on the foundations of the Inca temple dedicated to the Sun God, with impressive Inca walls still preserved.
Next, we will visit the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, renowned for its massive, finely polished stones, some reaching 9 meters in height and weighing up to 350 tons. This site was an important ceremonial center dedicated to the Sun God.
We will then explore the Qenqo Temple, a mystical site where the Incas performed religious sacrifices.
Our tour continues to the Puca Pucara Military Center, known as the “inn” for Inca soldiers, and concludes at the Tambomachay Temple, often referred to as “The Bath of the Ñusta.” This site features two aqueducts that provide crystal-clear water year-round.
After the tour, you’ll return to your hotel with the evening free to explore Cusco at your leisure.
Day 2: Tours to the South Valley
At 8:30 am our transfer will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the starting point of our adventure in the south of Cusco.
First we will visit the archaeological centre of Tipón : A large and impressive cultivation area containing 12 cultivation terraces, the walls of which were built with finely carved stones. Even more impressive is the irrigation system that is still serving agriculture and the advantage is the water intake in the spring season.
Continuing on, we will arrive at Pikillaqta; it has the characteristics of a large urban center corresponding to the time of development of the Wari empire with more than a thousand buildings, courts or houses, temples, long and narrow streets with buildings that were up to 4 stories high.
At the end we visit Andahuaylillas: a typical Andean town from colonial times with a unique origin and architecture. The Andahuaylillas Temple stands out from the colonial era with beautiful decoration and mural paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America.”
We will be returning to the city of Cusco at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Day 3: Tours To Maras Moray – Salineras
Pick-up from the hotel is around 8:30 am as we head to the town of Maras. Enjoy a colorful journey through charming villages and stunning landscapes. Our first stop is the town of Maras, where you’ll have a view of the Vilcanota mountain range and the snow-capped peaks of “El Chicón” and “La Verónica.”
This picturesque town showcases attractions from pre-Hispanic, colonial, and republican periods. Next, we’ll visit the Moray Archaeological Complex, located 7 km southwest of Maras. This site features a series of massive, concentric terraces arranged in a large natural depression. These terraces were used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory, a “prototype greenhouse.”
Finally, we’ll explore the Salineras, located northwest of Maras. These salt mines consist of around 2,000 small ponds, each approximately 5 m² in size, which have been in use since the Inca era and continue to be worked by local residents. After our visit to these remarkable sites, we’ll return to the city of Cusco.
Day 4: Tours to the Sacred Valley of the Incas
Pick-up from the hotel is at approximately 7:20 am. We will start our journey in Corao, crossing the Vilcanota River to enjoy a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac. We will then visit the traditional Pisac market, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the local customs and culture. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Ollantaytambo Fortress, a strategic site built to protect the entrance to this part of the valley from potential invasions by jungle inhabitants. After visiting Ollantaytambo, we will stay there to catch our train to Machu Picchu. (Overnight stay at a hotel in Aguas Calientes).”
Day 5: Machu Picchu Tours
After spending the night in Machu Picchu town, you’ll follow the guide’s instructions and your scheduled visit time to head to the bus station. From there, you’ll take a 40-minute bus ride up a winding path, ascending 400 meters in elevation, until you reach the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, often referred to as ‘The Lost City of the Incas.’
Upon arrival at the citadel, you’ll embark on a guided tour exploring key highlights such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the ancient cemeteries.
