Day 1: Reception in Lima – City Tour in Lima
After you set foot on Peruvian soil, our collaborator will welcome you at the Jorge Chávez airport in Lima and drive you to the hotel, where you will be given instructions for our 9-day Andean Wonder Package.
City Tour Lima:
We will begin the tour with a panoramic view of the “Pucllana Pyramid”, an ancient ceremonial and archaeological center.
Then we will go to the Historic Center of Lima, where we will appreciate what was once the old Lima Square, and colonial buildings such as the Paseo de la República, Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, among others.
Continuing the tour we will visit the Central Reserve Bank Museum (closed on Saturdays and Sundays). We will also visit the San Francisco Monumental Complex, where its main attraction is the underground crypts known as the Catacombs.
Finally we will go to the Contemporary Zone of Lima where we will appreciate the main buildings and residential areas of Lima, El Olivar de San Isidro, Miraflores, Larcomar and the Parque del Amor.
Day 02: Tour to the “Ballesta Island” and “Paracas Reserve”
3.30 Hrs. Meet at Av. Javier Prado Este 1109 La Victoria (alt. Ricardo Palma Clinic) – Cruz del Sur Agency. Board a bus to Paracas.
Visit Paracas – Ballesta Island
08.00 Hrs We will begin with the arrival at the port of El Chaco in Paracas, from here we will depart in modern gliders towards the Ballestas Islands.
On the way to the Islands we will see El Candelabro, located in Paracas Bay, and a small guano pier. We will also observe the diversity of marine fauna.
Visit Winery:
We will then visit the artisanal countryside of El Catador or Nieto, where the grape brandy, famously known as Pisco, is produced. We will also taste the different types of Pisco, Wines and the traditional Cachina.
Visit Huacachina Oasis:
Then we will move to Laguna Huacachina, where we will enjoy the wonderful sunset in the Ica desert. Depending on the operator’s availability, we will be able to live an adventure through the Ica desert aboard tubular cars and sandboarding.
18.30 Hrs. Transfer to the Ica bus terminal. Departure to Nazca. Pick up from the terminal and transfer to the hotel in Nazca.
Day 03: Nazca Lines Overflight
8:00 Hrs. Approximately you will be picked up from your hotel.
Hrs. Nazca Lines Overflight (depending on option/weather conditions):
Before boarding the plane, there is a waiting time of 1 to 2 hours. It is recommended that you have a light snack during this time.
Once in the plane we will be able to see the figures of the Spider, the Hummingbird, the Monkey, the Whale, the Condor, the Hands, and the most mysterious, the Astronaut. The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Hrs. After the flight over Nazca transfer to the Nazca terminal overnight hotel in Lima
Day 04: Flight Lima – Cusco / City Tours Cusco
At the agreed time you will be transferred to the Lima airport to take the flight to the imperial city of Cusco. Upon arrival in the city of Cusco, our collaborator will be waiting for you at the Cusco Airport to transfer you to the assigned hotel.
Cusco City Tours
At 1:40 pm, we begin our visit from the main square of Cusco Huacaypata, then we will go to the Temple of Qoricancha, built on the base of the Inca foundation where the “sun” god was worshipped. Then we will take the bus that will take us to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, a place of offering to the Sun God, where the Inti Raymi ceremony takes place every June 21. Then we go to the Qenqo temple.
Mystical temple of the Incas where religious sacrifices were made, Pucapucara military center, Tambomachay Temple. This monument is known as “The Bath of the Ñusta” due to the existence of two aqueducts that carry crystal-clear water during the year. Return to the hotel and free night.
Day 05: Maras – Moray – Salt mines
At 8:30 am we will pick you up from your hotel and begin our adventure towards Chincheros.
In Chinchero at 3780 meters above sea level where we will visit its traditional market and we will be able to be part of its culture and crafts.
Continuing on, we will go towards the circular platforms of Maras Moray and take a colorful route, passing through very typical towns and beautiful landscapes that we can enjoy.
Moray is a set of enormous terraces that overlap concentrically in a gigantic hole, these beautiful terraces that served in the Inca era as an agricultural laboratory “Greenhouse Prototype”
Finally we will visit the Salineras located northwest of the town of Maras, which consist of about 2,000 small wells with an average area of about 5 m², exploited since the Inca era, the Colonial era and which are still exploited by the locals.
After our visit we will return to the city of Cusco.
Day 06: Rainbow Mountain Tour
At 4:30 am to 5:00 am we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey to the south of Cusco.
We will travel approximately 2 hours to reach Cusipata and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Then we will continue for another hour and a half until we reach Vinicunca and begin our walk.
The walk will take an average of an hour and a half until reaching the highest point at 5,000 meters above sea level, where we can enjoy an impressive view of the “mountain of 7 colors.”
After our visit we will return to Cusipata to enjoy a delicious lunch that will comfort us, our adventure in the Vinicunca mountain range.
We will then return to the city of Cusco where we will arrive at approximately 6:00 pm.
Day 07: Humantay Lake Tours:
At 4:30 am to 5:00 am our transfer will pass by your hotel to pick you up and take you to our starting point.
At 5:00 am we begin our journey with the tour guide, taking the road to Abancay.
After approximately an hour and a half of travel we will arrive at Limatambo from where we will take the detour towards Mollepata where we can enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Then we will continue by bus for another hour to Soraypampa, where we will get ready for our hike, ascending for approximately 1 hour to the Humantay Lagoon;
After a time of visiting and exploring the place and the view of the Humantay mountain in the Vilcabamba chain in the Andes in the company of our guide who will explain to us about this magnificent place, we will then begin the way back to Soraypampa to enjoy a delicious lunch and return to the city of Cusco.
Approximate arrival in the city of Cusco 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Day 08: Tour Sacred Valley of the Incas:
We start with pick up from your hotel at 8:30 am, and then board our tourist bus heading to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
After a 30-minute drive we arrive at the Corao craft center where we will make a 20-minute stop, then we continue towards the town of Pisaq from where we can enjoy a beautiful view of the sacred valley. Once in the Pisaq Archaeological Park we will have a 40-minute guided tour of the archaeological park. After the visit we descend to the town of Pisaq and visit its market.
Continuing our journey, along the Vilcanota River that runs through the entire Sacred Valley, we moved to Urubamba to rest and have time for lunch in a local restaurant prepared with local ingredients.
After a 40-minute rest we continue the trip to Ollantaytambo where we will visit the archaeological park for about 30 to 40 minutes.
At the end of our visit to Ollantaytambo we will board the train to the town of Machu Picchu. We will spend the night there and rest before visiting the most important attraction in Peru the next day: Machu Picchu.
Day 09: Visit Machu Picchu Citadel:
Machu Picchu Tour
According to the time indicated by our guide, we will approach the Consettur bus station to board and begin our most desired journey “MachuPicchu”, at the control gate of the citadel we will present our tickets to enter with our tour guide who will tour the Inca citadel of MachuPicchu for 2 and a half hours, we will visit the Guardian’s House from where we will have a panoramic view of MachuPicchu next to Huanapicchu, the stone quarry, the temple of the sun, the temple of the 3 windows, the agricultural area and the urban area.
Machupicchu – Ollantaytambo train.
At the end of our guided tour we will have an average of one hour to rest inside the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Then we will take our bus back to the town of Machu Picchu.
Depending on the departure time of our train, we will be present 30 minutes before departure to board the train and return to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo our transfer will be waiting for you to board the bus to the city of Cusco, ending our tour in Plaza San Francisco.
Day 10: Transfer Hotel – Cusco Airport.
