DÍA 1: Tour Q'eswachaka Inca Bridge
Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge Tour & 4 lakes Circuit – Cusco Itinerary
The Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge Tour begins early in the morning, between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., with hotel pickup in Cusco. We head toward the South Valley of Cusco, traveling through scenic Andean landscapes and traditional villages that preserve the cultural essence of the region. Our first stop is in Cusipata, where we enjoy a hearty breakfast before continuing the adventure.
We then resume our journey to the Combapata Viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding natural scenery. Next, we visit the so-called Pabellones Mini Volcano and pass through Yanaoca, one of the most representative districts of the Canas province. After approximately one more hour of travel, we arrive at the district of Quehue, home to the famous Q’eswachaka Inca Bridge.
Located at over 3,600 meters (11,811 ft) above sea level and measuring nearly 28 meters (92 feet) long, the Q’eswachaka Bridge is entirely handwoven from natural ichu grass fiber using ancestral techniques that remain alive today. We descend along a zigzag trail into the canyon of the Apurímac River, where the bridge stands impressively amid the dramatic landscape. You will have enough time to explore the site, take photos, and learn more about this tradition recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
After the visit, we continue to Mosoc Llaqta, where the house associated with Túpac Amaru II, a key historical figure in Peru, is located. We then begin the 4 Lagoons Circuit: Pampamarca, Asnacqocha, Acopia, and Pomacanchi — a scenic route perfect for enjoying the peaceful beauty of the Andean highlands.
Finally, we return to Cusipata for a buffet lunch. After a day filled with history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes, we head back to the city of Cusco. Arrival is expected around 4:00 p.m., concluding a complete and enriching experience in the southern Andes.
