Day 1: City Tour in Cusco
Our Cusco Sacred Valley Tour program begins with reception at the Cusco airport, transfer to the hotel where you can acclimatize and not have problems with the altitude.
City Tour in Cusco
At 1:40 pm, we begin our visit with the Plaza Mayor of Cusco Huacaypata, and then to the tourist places:
- Qoricancha Temple, built on the base of the Inca foundation where the “sun” god was worshipped, where the Inca walls are still preserved. Place where the great Inti Raymi festival begins
- Sacsayhaman Temple, known as a place of offering to the Sun God, where every June 21 the Inti Raymi ceremony takes place, very famous for its enormous polished and molded stones, some of which are 9m high and weigh 350 tons, all of which were joined together with such precision that it is impossible to insert a needle into the joints.
- Qenqo Temple: the mystical temple of the Qenqo Incas where religious sacrifices were made. What remains today of the Qenqo archaeological complex that can currently be seen within it is still impressive and colossal.
- Puca Pucara Military Center: We will visit the Puca Pucara military and control center of the Incas, which consists of superimposed terraces, aqueducts, watchtowers, interior plazas, walls and staircases.
- Tambomachay Temple. Limestone construction with polygonal style masonry. This monument is known as “El Baño de la Ñusta” (The Bath of the Ñusta) due to the existence of two aqueducts that carry crystal-clear water all year round.
Return to the hotel and free night.
Day 2: Tours Maras Moray – Salineras
Maras – Moray archaeological complex
We will be picked up at approximately 8:30 am to head to the town of Maras and take a colorful tour, passing through very typical towns and beautiful landscapes that we can enjoy on our tour. First, we will visit the town of Maras, from where you can see the Vilcanota mountain range and the snow-capped peaks such as the snow-capped mountains “El Chicón” and “La Verónica.
Today, this picturesque town houses attractions from the pre-Hispanic, colonial and republican periods. We will then visit the Moray Archaeological Complex, located 7 km southwest of Maras. It is a set of enormous terraces that overlap concentrically in a gigantic hole. These beautiful terraces served in the Inca era as an agricultural laboratory, a “Greenhouse Prototype”.
Finally, we will visit the Salineras, located northwest of the town of Maras. They consist of about 2,000 small wells with an average area of about 5 m², exploited since the Inca era, the Colonial era and still being exploited by the locals. After our visit, we will return to the city of Cusco.
Day 3: Tours to the Sacred Valley of the Incas
Pick up from the hotel at approximately 8:20 am, we start in Corao, then travel over the Vilcanota River, for a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac and a visit to the typical Pisac market, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the customs of its inhabitants.
Lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the jungle dwellers. We will stay in Ollantaytambo to take our train to Machu Picchu. (night at Aguas Calientes hotel)
Day 4: Tours Machu Picchu
According to the time indicated by our guide we will approach the Consettur bus station to board and begin our most desired journey “MachuPicchu”,
At the control gate of the citadel of Machu Picchu we will present our tickets to enter with our tour guide.
With our guide we will tour the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu for 2 and a half hours, we will visit the Guardian’s House from where we will have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu next to Huanapicchu, the stone quarry, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the agricultural area and the urban area.
Finally, once our guided tour is over, we will have an average of one hour to rest inside the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Then, we will take our bus back to the town of Machu Picchu.
Depending on the departure time of our train, we will be present 30 minutes before departure to board the train and return to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo our transfer will be waiting for you to board the bus to the city of Cusco, ending our tour in Plaza San Francisco.
Day 5: Transfer Hotel - Airport
Breakfast at the hotel.
With prior coordination, you will be provided with the hotel/airport transfer service.
