Visitante frente a Machu Picchu, símbolo del legado cultural que inspira a nosotros como empresa comprometida con el turismo patrimonial – Aremika Travel

About Us

We are Aremika Travel, a travel agency in Cusco founded by a team of travel professionals who are deeply passionate about the Peruvian Andes. Our home base is Cusco, the Immortal City — the navel of the world and the beating heart of the Inca Empire — and from here we organize authentic travel experiences for visitors from every corner of the globe.

We are not a middleman or an online booking platform. We are a 100% local agency with a real presence in Cusco, with guides who know every trail, every ruin, and every community along the way. When you book with us, you work directly with the people who will be with you on the day of your trip.

From a Local Dream to an Expert Travel Agency in Peru

Aremika Travel was founded on a deep love for our culture and a passion for adventure. We grew up hearing the stories of the Apus (mountain spirits) and walking the ancient paths that connect our communities. We saw an opportunity to create something different: a truly local tour operator in Cusco that combines world-class professionalism with the warmth and authenticity of a family welcome. We believe travel should be transformative, not just transactional. This core belief is the foundation of our Aremika Travel story.

Our Philosophy: Your Adventure, Our Commitment

Our mission is to craft unforgettable and safe adventure travel in Peru. We are committed to three fundamental pillars that guide every decision we make:

Our Credentials & Your Peace of Mind

Trust is earned through transparency. Aremika Travel is a fully licensed and registered expert travel agency in Peru, complying with all regulations set forth by the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism (MINCETUR). Our official operating license is your assurance that we meet the highest standards of safety, legality, and ethics in Peru. We believe in providing complete peace of mind, so if you have any questions about us or our credentials, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our Mision

At Aremika Travel, we go beyond providing a tourism service. Our goal is to be the beginning of a lasting friendship and a relationship of trust with every traveler who chooses us. We believe that responsible, authentic tourism transforms lives — both the traveler’s and those of the local communities we call home and deeply respect.

Vision

To be leaders in the provision of tourist services in our region and at a national and international level, sharing with the world our passion for Peru, its history, traditions and living customs that have been maintained over the years.

Our Experience in Tourism

With years of experience in tourism across Cusco and Peru, we have accompanied thousands of travelers from around the world on their Andean adventures. From the legendary Inca Trail to Machu Picchu — a 64-kilometer route following the ancient Inca road, surrounded by archaeological sites that once served as resting places for Inca travelers — to the most intimate routes through the Sacred Valley, Rainbow Mountain, and Humantay Lake.

We know the most popular destinations and the most remote ones. We know when to leave early, which viewpoints are truly worth it, and which local communities offer the most authentic experiences. That knowledge, built over years of hands-on work in the field, is what we put at your service on every tour.

Preguntas Frecuentes

Todos los días recibimos preguntas relacionadas con nuestro servicio; hemos hecho una selección de las más frecuentes que estamos seguros responderán algunas de tus dudas, si te quedan mas consultas escríbenos a info@aremikatravel.com

When is the Inca Trail open and how far in advance should I book?

The Inca Trail is open ten months a year, from March 1st to January 31st, and closes for maintenance every February. Permits are extremely limited and are released by the government in October for the following year, often selling out within hours. To secure your spot on our Classic Inca Trail 4-Day trek, we strongly recommend booking at least 6 to 8 months in advance

What are the main ways to get to Machu Picchu?

There are several fantastic ways to reach Machu Picchu, each offering a unique experience. You can travel:

  • By Train: This is the most comfortable and quickest option, with stunning valley views. Companies like PeruRail and IncaRail offer various services from Cusco or Ollantaytambo.
  • By Trekking: For adventurers, this is the ultimate experience. You can hike legendary routes like the famous Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, the diverse Inca Jungle adventure, or the challenging Choquequirao to Machu Picchu trek.
  • By Car (Amazon Route): This is a more economical option that combines bus travel with a scenic walk to the town of Aguas Calientes.

What is your booking process and what are the payment terms?

Our booking process is simple and secure. For a complete overview of our policies, you can review our Terms and Conditions page.

What secure payment methods do you accept?

We accept several secure payment methods for your convenience. You can make your deposit safely online using any major credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.) or through PayPal. All online transactions are processed through a secure, encrypted payment gateway to protect your financial information. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

What safety measures does Aremika Travel implement on its tours?

Your safety is our highest priority. We implement comprehensive safety measures on every tour to ensure your well-being. All our lead guides are certified in first-aid and wilderness rescue. On all our treks, we carry a complete first-aid kit, an emergency oxygen bottle, and satellite phones for remote areas. Furthermore, we provide a detailed safety briefing before every departure so you can feel confident and prepared for the adventure ahead

Why is acclimatization in Cusco so important before a trek?

Acclimatization is crucial for your health and enjoyment on any high-altitude trek in Peru. Cusco is located at 3,399 meters (11,152 ft), and treks like the Montaña de Colores or Salkantay reach even higher altitudes. Spending at least two to three days in Cusco before your trek allows your body to adjust, significantly reducing the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). For more expert tips, we recommend reading our complete guide to traveling to Cusco.
