Museum of Anthropology:

The MNAAHP is located in Plaza Bolívar, in the Pueblo Libre district of the city of Lima, founded under the patronage of Don José de San Martín in 1822, José Bernardo de Tagle, Bernardo de Monteagudo and Mariano Eduardo de Rivero y Utariz.

The first collection was made up of early excavations and donations, all of them except for the Raymondi Stele, which disappeared during the occupation of Lima by Chilean troops.

In 1911 Julio C. Tello took over archaeology, by then there were more than 9,000 archaeological pieces, due to discrepancies between the director and Julio C. Tello, the archaeology section became independent in 1924 with the name of the Museum of Peruvian Archaeology,

The MNAAHP has a huge variety of historical cultural objects of the Peruvian civilization, housing more than 300,000 pieces within an area of ​​23,000 m2 spread over 30 rooms.

Larco Museum:

The Rafael Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum (Larco Museum) is a pre-Columbian art museum founded by Rafael Larco in 1926. It is located in the Pueblo Libre district of the city of Lima.

Here you will find galleries that display more than 5,000 years of the development of pre-Columbian Peru, pre-Incan collections, gold and silver, textiles, ceramics, and erotic huacos.

• Gold and Silver Gallery : sample of the jewelry collection used by various rulers of Peru, includes a collection of crowns, ear rings, nose rings, jewels, masks and glasses.
• Gallery of Cultures : exhibition of 10,000 years of history of ancient Peru, arranged chronologically, the gallery is divided into four areas: North Coast, Central Coast, South Coast and Andes Coast.
• Gallery of erotic huacos : Ceramics found by Rafael Larco in 1960, as a result of his research on sexual representations in pre-Columbian art, published in his book “Checan” (1966).
