Itinerary – Pallay Punchu Mountain Tour 1 Day
We begin our adventure with hotel pickup in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., depending on your hotel location. We will travel for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Cusipata, where we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast to start the day with energy.
After breakfast, we continue our panoramic journey through beautiful Andean valleys, farmland, and picturesque villages. Passing through Sicuani, we take the route toward Espinar until we reach the impressive Langui-Layo Lake, one of the most spectacular landscapes in the Cusco highlands. From there, we head toward the districts of Langui and Layo, traveling along the lake shore while enjoying unique views, Andean wildlife, and local fish farms.
Upon arrival at the trailhead, we will prepare for a hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes at a moderate pace to reach the viewpoint of Pallay Punchu Mountain (Apu T’akllo Apacheta), located at more than 4,700 meters (15,419 ft) above sea level. At the summit, you will admire its impressive multicolored formations formed by mineral oxidation, creating natural stripes that resemble a traditional Andean poncho. From the top, you will also enjoy panoramic views of the Cusco highlands and the Andes Mountains.
After some free time for photos and a guided explanation, we begin the descent back to the parking area to board our transportation for the return journey. On the way back, we will enjoy a traditional Andean buffet lunch (in Sicuani or Cusipata).
Finally, we return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m., concluding an unforgettable experience as part of the best Cusco tours.
