Ministerial Resolution No. 000207-2024-MC , signed by Leslie Urteaga , Minister of MINCUL, confirms what had been announced before regarding the maximum number of visitors to Machu Picchu . This measure establishes that only around 5,600 people per day will be allowed to enter the llaqta.

The Ministry of Culture has approved the protocol for visits to the Llaqta of Machu Picchu. According to the provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 000207-2024-MC, signed by Leslie Urteaga, director of MINCUL, the different routes available and the maximum number of people allowed to visit this important tourist destination in the imperial city of Cusco are established.

According to the resolution, what had already been announced previously regarding the permitted capacity at the Machu Picchu llaqta has been confirmed. During the period from June 1 to October 15 and from December 30 to 31, 2024, the maximum number of visitors allowed per day will be 5,600 people.

As is known, during Holy Week of this year 2021, the Ministry of Culture authorized a temporary increase in the number of people allowed to visit the site, going from 4,500 to 5,000 per day. However, with this new decision, a maximum capacity of up to 5,600 visitors can now be reached. see

New routes for the Machu Picchu Visit 2024

New tourist routes and circuits have been established for the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu, in order to provide a more complete and varied experience to visitors who wish to discover this important archaeological site. These new tour options will allow visitors to explore lesser-known areas and discover more interesting aspects of the Inca culture in this impressive place.

As of June 1, 2024, the Ministry of Culture has announced a change in the tourist circuits to visit the llaqta of Machu Picchu . This new provision will affect tourists who wish to visit this important tourist destination.

Meanwhile, the current circuits will remain in force until May 31 of this year.

It is also important to note that the entry time for each circuit is specified on the entrance ticket. There is a tolerance of thirty (30) minutes to enter Machu Picchu in low season and forty-five (45) minutes in high season. After this period of time, the visitor will not be able to enter Machu Picchu, unless there is a justified reason of force majeure or proven unforeseen event.
