Day 1: CUSCO AIRPORT RECEPTION – CITY TOURS
Upon arrival at Cusco Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel to acclimate before starting our 8-day Cusco tour.
At 1:30 pm, our guided tour will commence from Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, including visits to:
- Qoricancha Temple: Built on the foundations of an ancient Inca temple dedicated to the Sun God, this site still features its original Inca walls.
- Sacsayhuamán Fortress: A significant ceremonial site dedicated to the Sun God, famous for its enormous, intricately polished stones, some reaching 9 meters in height and weighing up to 350 tons.
- Qenqo Temple: A mystical site where the Incas performed religious sacrifices and rituals.
- Puca Pucara Military Center: Often known as the “Inca soldiers’ rest area,” this site provided accommodation and supplies for soldiers stationed in the region.
- Tambomachay Temple: Referred to as “The Bath of the Ñusta,” this monument is notable for its impressive aqueducts that deliver crystal-clear water throughout the year.
Day 2: VISIT Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain
At 4:30 am to 5:00 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to start our journey south of Cusco.
Our adventure begins with a scenic drive of approximately 2 hours, heading towards Cusipata, where we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast. This is a great opportunity to fuel up and prepare for the day’s hike.
After breakfast, we will continue our journey for about another hour and a half, making our way to Vinicunca, also known as the Rainbow Mountain. Upon arrival, we will begin our hike.
The trek to Vinicunca will take approximately 1.5 hours, leading us up to the highest point at 5,000 meters above sea level. This challenging ascent will be rewarded with stunning, panoramic views of the “Mountain of 7 Colors,” a spectacular natural phenomenon with vibrant, multi-colored slopes.
Once we have taken in the breathtaking views and captured some memorable photographs, we will descend back to Cusipata. Here, a delicious and hearty lunch will await us, providing a well-deserved break and a chance to relax after our mountain adventure.
Following lunch, we will embark on the return journey to Cusco. We anticipate arriving in Cusco around 6:00 pm, where you will have the evening free to unwind and reflect on the day’s incredible experiences.
Day 3: Humantay lake tours
At 4:30 am to 5:00 am, our transfer will pick you up from your hotel to begin your adventure.
We will start our journey with a scenic drive towards Abancay. By 5:00 am, we will be on our way, guided by our knowledgeable tour guide. After approximately an hour and a half of travel, we will reach Limatambo, where we will take a detour to Mollepata. Here, you will enjoy a delightful breakfast, providing the perfect start to our day of exploration.
Following breakfast, we will continue our journey by bus for another hour, arriving at Soraypampa. At this beautiful location, we will prepare for our hike. The trek to the Humantay Lagoon will take approximately 1 hour, leading us through stunning Andean landscapes. As we ascend, you will be accompanied by our guide, who will share fascinating insights about the area and its natural beauty.
Upon reaching the Humantay Lagoon, you will have time to explore and take in the breathtaking views of the Humantay Mountain, part of the Vilcabamba range in the Andes. The lagoon’s crystal-clear waters and the surrounding mountain scenery offer an unforgettable experience.
After our visit to the lagoon, we will return to Soraypampa, where a delicious lunch will await us. This meal will provide a refreshing break before we embark on our journey back to Cusco.
We arriving in Cusco between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, where you can unwind and reflect on the day’s remarkable experiences.
Day 4: Tour Sacred valley of the incas
t 8:20 am our transfer will pick you up at your hotel to take you to our departure point.
At 9:00 am we begin our journey towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas,
We will visit the Corao craft center, where we will be able to appreciate local textiles and crafts for about 10 minutes.
We will then pass through the town of Pisaq to reach the archaeological park of Pisaq, a town built on the slopes of the hill with Inca terraces that make the shape of a partridge,
We will also be able to appreciate the Inca cemetery where they used to bury their deceased.
Upon returning to the town of Pisaq we will have a 10-minute visit to a silversmithing workshop.
Continuing our route along the Vilcanota River we will move to Urubamba, where a delicious lunch prepared with local ingredients awaits us, where we will have 40 minutes to rest and enjoy the buffet menu.
We will then continue our adventure towards the town of Ollantaytambo. We will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress , built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions by the inhabitants of the jungle.
At 4:00 pm, after finishing our visit, we will approach the Ollantaytambo train station to board the train to Machu Picchu. On the way we will see a beautiful landscape within the Vilcanota Valley, as well as archaeological remains surrounding the entrance to Machu Picchu .
Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu station, the hotel transfer will be waiting to take you to the hotel.
Once at the hotel, our guide will approach you to give you directions for our visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
Free night to enjoy the charms of Machu Picchu Town.
Day 5: Visit to Machu Picchu
According to the schedule provided by our guide, we will head to the Consettur bus station to board our bus for the long awaited trip to Machu Picchu.
At the entrance gate of the citadel, we will present our tickets and meet our tour guide.
Our guided tour of the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu will last approximately 2.5 hours. We will explore key highlights including the Guardian’s House, which offers a panoramic view of Machu Picchu alongside Huayna Picchu; the ancient stone quarry; the Temple of the Sun; the Temple of the Three Windows; as well as the agricultural and urban areas of the site.
After our guided tour, we will return by bus to the village, where you will have time to enjoy lunch and ensure you are on time for the train departure.
Depending on the departure time of our train, 30 minutes before departure we will be present to board the train and return to Ollantaytambo.
Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo our transfer will be waiting for you to board the bus to the city of Cusco, ending our tour in Plaza San Francisco.
Day 6: Hotel – Airport
Breakfast at the hotel.
If you leave Cusco at night, we can schedule a service at an additional cost or take the day off to tour the imperial city, visit the Traditional Market of San Pedro, where you can find local products.
After having enjoyed all our services, this day will be our farewell at the airport in the city of Cusco or the bus terminal.
