The National Service of Natural Protected Areas (SERNANP) has announced promotional entrance fees for the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu throughout 2026, benefiting both domestic and international visitors. This initiative aims to promote sustainable and accessible tourism at one of the world’s most visited wonders.
💰 New Entrance Fees to Machu Picchu for 2026
According to Chief Resolution No. 000004-2025-SERNANP/SHMPI-SGD, published in the official newspaper El Peruano, the entrance fees will be valid from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
The promotional rates are as follows:
- Foreign tourists aged 18 and over: S/ 11.00
- Foreign tourists aged 3 to 17: S/ 5.00
- Peruvian visitors aged 18 and over: S/ 5.00 (standard social rate)
- Peruvian children and teens (ages 3 to 17): S/ 3.00
🆓 Free Admission for Cusco Residents on Sundays
As part of efforts to encourage local tourism, free entry is granted every Sunday to residents of the Cusco region. To access this benefit, citizens must present their National Identity Document (DNI) showing residence in the department.
📜 Aligned with the General Tourism Law
These preferential rates are in accordance with Article 34 of the General Tourism Law (Law No. 29408), which allows promotional pricing to strengthen domestic tourism in Peru’s protected natural areas.

With this initiative, SERNANP reaffirms its commitment to the government’s policy of revitalizing the tourism sector and promoting inclusive access to heritage sites like Machu Picchu, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
